EncepHeal Therapeutics Receives $150,000 Notice of Award from the North Carolina Biotechnology Center

EncepHeal Therapeutics has been awarded a $150,000 Small Business Research Loan from the North Carolina Biotechnology Center. These funds will supplement the work underway in a Phase I SBIR grant from the National Institute on Drug Abuse (NIDA) granted earlier this year, which is intended to develop a first in class treatment for cocaine addiction.  The money from the North Carolina Biotechnology Center is budgeted to be used to conduct further screening assays centered around tests to prove i) efficacy, and ii) show minimal to no abuse liability. The goal in this particular phase of work is to determine a lead compound to move forward through IND and into clinical trials. This award establishes a strong partnership between EncepHeal and the North Carolina Biotechnology Center, a non-profit focused on growing Biotechnology in the state of North Carolina.
